“Homelands” is about Susan’s ancestors prior to white settlements and depicts many groups of individuals in tightly knitted groups, safe and protected yet still strongly connected with other groups. The general feeling of calm and belonging and everything is in its place. It is a place and a feeling that many aborigines aspire to return to after a history of displacement and separation from the group and the groups.
