In the days of early settlement, my mob was taken to various parts of Australia or ran away.
I was lucky enough to find a thread that led me to find the wonderful family that I now have.
I hear stories that make me cry. Stories of cruelty
that are not written in the history books.
Some of my family members were stolen, some were treated as slaves, some were treated like animals and the list goes on.
This has left an enormous impact on my people but still they are a loving, warm and forgiving people.
My painting represents the family as the centre of all things great. The women and men and children all connecting. I am one of the lucky ones who now have the opportunity to record history.
