Susan lives and paints on a section of Bonner’s Knob Hill, the very lookout on which some of the Iman Tribe would camp out on before many were initially taken away to the Taroom Aboriginal Reserve at Bundulla and then force-marched onto the Aboriginal Reserve at Woorabinda, 400 klms away. It is from there that she gets much of her Spiritual and Artistic inspiration and guidance. Susan’s Great Grandparents, Ah See and Maggie Dunn Ah See were well known in the Taroom area for growing their fruit and vegetables and feeding the townspeople and drovers. The Lagoon just outside of town for this reason is known as Ah See Lagoon.
